Another local nail bar has been raided by Health and Safety officials from Hounslow Council.

Last week JK Nails on Chiswick High Road was closed after a visit from council officers and this week Rich Nails on Devonshire Road was subject to the same treatment..

The poster put up by Hounslow Council on the window of JK Nails advised that persons found on-site during the investigation were not registered and were unable to produce confirmation of their qualification or experience. This is part of the terms and conditions of the 'Special Treatment Licence' needed to practise such treatments.

The Council notice advised that failure to comply could put persons at risk and could lead to them "contracting health infections".

Both establishments are understood to have reopened since the raids.

A council spokesperson said: “The premises were closed following an operation by Hounslow Council. We cannot at this stage provide further information as there is an on-going investigation.”
