Freya Hoffmeister, the international Sea Kayaker who is often referred to as 'the Goddess of Love to the Seas', will be in Chiswick to talk about her life on the ocean wave.

The German champion is being hosted by the Chelsea Kayak Club, based at Kew Bridge, for her talk, entitled 'Think Bigger! - The First Circumnavigation of South America' . The event will be held on February 5th at the George IV, Chiswick High Road at 7 pm, and is the inaugural event to mark her UK and Irish speaking tour.

Frieya was only the second person to kayak round Australia, and is the only person to have gone around South America, a journey of 27,000 kms. The South American circumnavigation was a huge undertaking, roughly 27,000 km, with Freya averaging around 45km per day on the water over the 44 months of the expedition. Her next project will be north America.

Freya has been awarded the "World Paddle Award", named the "European Adventurer of the Year" and is a "National Geographic's Adventurers of the Year" winner.

The talk will start @ 7pm and is spread over three hours and includes a thirty minute refreshment break, Q&A session and a book signing at the end for those who may wish to read more about her adventures.
