John Lewis of Hungerford taking over former mobile phone shop

The specialist kitchen company John Lewis of Hungerford has announced that it is setting up a showroom in Chiswick.

It intends to open in May on the site of a former ee mobile phone shop (beside Pizza Express).

The company announced that it has exchanged contracts to lease the new showroom which will become the 15th in its portfolio. They opened a bedroom-only showroom in Oxfordshire last year.

The chairman Malcolm Hepworth said:"We have long held an ambition to open a store in Chiswick as we believe it is a location that fits extremely well with our brand.

"The new store will enable us to gain greater sales penetration within our core market without impacting on the performance of our existing sites," he added.

The specialist kitchen manufacturer did not disclose the financial details of the detail. Shares were up 2.2% at 2.61 pence recently.
