A man will appear in court in Croydon this week in connection with an alleged racist attack on well known Chiswick restaurateur Malcolm John, of Le Vacherin.

The incident is alleged to have taken place in one of his other restaurants, Brasserie Vacherin, at Sutton High Street on 30 June 30, 2015.

Kevin Boxall, 43, of Wales Avenue, Carshalton, denies racially aggravated harassment and is due to stand trial at Croydon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Malcolm John owns a Brasserie Vacherin in Croydon as well as Le Vacherin in Chiswick.

The chef was born in St Vincent and came to England aged four, growing up in Coventry. He trained with the Savoy Group as a chef, and worked in Italy, before returning to London in the 1990s. n in 2008.

He opened Le Vacherin in Chiswick in 2004 and Brasserie Vacherin opened in Croydon as part of a plan to' bring a little of the West End to Croydon', followed by the Brasserie in Sutton.
