Mama Cappella, a group of local Chiswick mums who love to sing, will hold their third concert on Thursday 27 June, at St Michael’s Church on Elmwood Road, W4 at 8pm.

The group came together to find "solace, sanity and a lot of fun" singing modern a Cappella music. Tickets will be £10 on the door and refreshments offered.

They are raising money for Pandas, a charity that supports maternal mental health, a subject close to all of their hearts.

MamaCappella was born about a year ago, as a group of mums who just wanted to sing something other than' baa baa black sheep'.It was founded by local residents Olivia Horne and Lucy Fergusson.

Olivia commented "Lots of us felt that since having kids, our passion for music had been sidelined, for other more pressing, parental pursuits. But I am a fierce advocate of self care, and the message that mothers cannot pour from an empty cup. Everyone deserves the time and space to do for themselves whatever brings them joy and peace.

"We all know the power that music has to bring people together and nourish the soul. And there are many studies now showing the benefits of singing for our emotional wellbeing. So in support of maternal mental health, we are raising money for a charity called The PANDAS Foundation, which stands for Pre And PostNatal Depression Advice and Support.

"PANDAS helps any parent who is experiencing a perinatal mental illness, also guiding their families, friends and employers on how to support those who are suffering. We all feel very lucky to have found something that brings us joy, peace and sanity, and which has an amazing, ready-made support team to go along with it. We want to help other mums get the support they need through the challenges they are facing, and in turn help them to raise happy, healthy families."
