The Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society has marked the anniversary of the death of three local people when the first V2 fell on Staveley Road on September 8 1944.

They have reinstated the information panel which had come away from its fixings and placed a fine wreath of autumn flowers from Pot Pourri beside the memorial.

The V2 landed in the centre of Staveley Road, 73 years ago, towards the junction with Burlington Lane. A memorial was placed close to this spot, where there is a small electricity sub-station.
