Ruth Cadbury MP & Steve Curran, Leader of London Borough of Hounslow, are to be guests of honour at Chiswick Rugby Club Minis, for the launch of a major fundraising effort.

This Sunday, March 18th at 11:30, Ruth Cadbury & Steve Curran will visit CRFC and discuss plans to install an all-weather artificial pitch, floodlights, improved changing facilities (with wheelchair access) and much more. The highlight of the day will be at midday when Ruth presents the weekly Minis awards, to athletes of 5 years and older.

Wim Hulme, CRFC Minis Chairman said “We are excited to welcome local dignitaries, in addition to the usual Sunday Minis Rugby we have a free adults fitness session by Bianca Sainty, a First aid course and we will launch our members fundraising initiative. We can’t wait!”

The members fundraising drive begins Sunday: From a total investment of over 1.5 million pounds, the club are asking members for £100,000. The new facilities will increase local participation in sport and active recreation. Not only extending the opening hours, with floodlights, but also the number of bookings per week on the artificial grass surface, whatever the conditions.

Coach & Fundraising Chairman Michael Hanreck commented; “CRFC have already had amazing support from Hounslow Council, the RFU and many more. Now we are ready to turn to our members; The club has a special atmosphere that comes from its amateur roots and ambitions: we are volunteer led, charge minimal membership fees & are here for the community. I’m keen for Ruth and Steve to see, first hand, how we are so much more than just rugby, with many more activities for all the community”

Anyone is welcome to come to the session that starts at 10:30 for minis, or 11AM for parents fitness. (The First aid course must have been booked in advance.) Dukes Meadow, Dan Mason Dr, Chiswick, London W4 2SH - Cycling and walking to the club is strongly encouraged.
