Well-known local artist Jason Bowyer has asked for help to identify this portrait sitter who was painted by his father, the late William Bowyer RA.

The painting is titled "The Dentist".

It is to be presented to "The Peoples Portraits" at Girton College Cambridge on the 24 September by the Bowyer family.

Jason says; "We have drawn a blank on his name through family contacts but know he was a dentist in Chiswick or possibly Hammersmith."

The painting dates back to 1975 and was painted, not as a commission, but for practice by William Bowyer, at Cleveland Avenue, Chiswick.

William Bowyer died in 2015 and his widow, Vera Bowyer, who still lives in Chiswick, is going to unveil the painting at Girton.

If anyone could put a name to the person in the portrait, they would be very grateful. Please email editor@chiswickw4.com and we will pass on details to the Bowyer family.
