The new Hounslow Borough Commander, Chief Supt. Paul McGregor has said he is delighted to be back in familiar surroundings as he was once based in Chiswick.

Originally from Epsom, he joined the police service in 1987 and has been stationed in Wandsworth for the past two years. He took up the position following the departure of former Borough Commander Carl Bussey to a new position which will oversee eleven boroughs in London.

Mr. McGregor said he looked forward to getting to know residents in the borough. He was based in Chiswick from 1999-2002.

He told Chiswickw4.com that one of his priorities in the new job was to target prolific offenders and said his team would also work hard to catch offenders who cross into Hounslow borough from other areas to commit crimes.

In relation to Chiswick, he said he had been made aware of the current concerns over motor vehicle crime and thefts from vehicles and he was planning to see that there was increasing work concentrated in the area of forensic examination.

Borough Commander McGregor's position is a temporary appointment and he will be at his desk at headquarters in Hounslow as soon as he returns from celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary.
