Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity has been selected as play and learning expert, Gymboree’s, Charity of the Year 2016 launching in March.

The company, which is a provider of children’s developmental programmes, has committed all of its annual fundraising efforts across all 31 sites, to help the charity support more families with a life threatening or terminally ill child.

Gymboree will host themed parties across the country and take part in Rainbow Trust events throughout the year in a bid to raise thousands of pounds. Both organisations are celebrating milestone birthdays in 2016, with Gymboree turning 40 and Rainbow Trust celebrating 30 years of care.

Susannah Sloman, Managing Director at Gymboree, said: “We’re all about children at Gymboree, and giving them the best possible start in life. Sometimes things don’t go to plan and that’s where Rainbow Trust comes in, being there at those difficult times to support families through the tough times. We are delighted that all of the events to celebrate Gymboree’s 40th birthday are raising money for Rainbow Trust this year.”

Emma Haines Director of Marketing and Fundraising said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as Gymboree’s Charity of the Year. The partnership will have a huge impact for Rainbow Trust, enabling us to support more families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. We have already received a great response from Gymboree franchisees willing to fundraise for us and we can’t wait for the partnership to start".

Rainbow Trust is a national charity which offers emotional and practical support for the whole family; from their child’s diagnosis, during treatment and, if needed, through bereavement and beyond. It relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and thanks to its generous supporters helps over 1,900 families in England.

Chiswick franchisee Emily Wright is very excited about the new partnership: “I’m thrilled to be supporting such a fantastic charity and one which I know all local families will be keen to embrace. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of new faces at all our events over the year and have set our local target at a contribution of £1500 towards Gymboree UK’s overall total”.

Here in Chiswick families can look forward to a host of events through the year open to all children up to five years old. For just a £5 donation per child there’s art & crafts, music, bubbles, themed activities and lots more – the full list can be viewed online or by visiting Gymboree Chiswick’s Facebook page. The next events are Easter Parties on Saturday 26 March including of course an egg hunt!
