Refugees Welcome Hounslow is a group made up of local residents of Hounslow borough, working with the council to resettle in our borough 10 of the Syrian refugee families in camps in Jordan, under the government resettlement team.

The next Refugee Welcome Open Meeting will take place on Monday 9 October, 7.30-9.30pm at 367 Wellington Road South, Hounslow TW4 5HU. Everyone is welcome to hear of news and plans.

A flat in Bedfont will be home to the first arrivals. If you know of any local community organisation or people who would be helpful you are asked to get in touch.

Hounslow's refugee caseworker Mohamed is offering training for anyone interested in befriending Syrian families when they arrive. This is set for Monday 11 September. You are encouraged to email if you are interested.

If you would like to join over 120 people on the mailing list email your details  (name, rough postcode - so they can ensure people in the same area of the borough can work together -  and email) to: refugeeswelcomehounslow@gmail.com

There is a facebook page too where news will be posted.

Specific sub-groups are available for you to volunteer for - covering fundraising, housing, communications, welcome and education/employment support.
