An area at Bedford Corner, on the corner of South Parade and the Avenue (in front of the parade of businesses) is to be resurfaced.

The patch has been something of an eyesore for years, with uneven surfaces and potholes, and local businesses have been anxious for it to be upgraded.

After some pressure for the last few months, it is reported that the landlord has agreed to re-surface the entrance into Bedford Corner, where Greige Lifestyle Boutique is based.

The work will be carried out by Wheelers and will commence on 28 June and is expected to take approximately 7-10 days.

The owners of Greige Lifestyle Boutique, who have been pressing for the upgrade, say it will endeavour to remain open during the work but may need to close on occasion.

John and Pauline of Greige say they would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to their neighbours, their own customers and the customers of the other businesses in the area but hope people will all agree the work is long overdue and will hopefully enhance the area to the benefit of everyone.

All the other businesses on Bedford Corner will operate as usual during the work.
