The local Conservative Spokesman for Education and Schools, Cllr Robert Oulds has welcomed figures released from the Department of Education which showed schools in Hounslow to be performing “above the national average”.

The National average which now stands at 63% after tougher measures consists of the percentage of pupils achieving “good” in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.

The BBC and Department for Education Data reveal that Hounslow Schools now have achieved a score in the 63% to 67% bracket of Primary School Performance.

Commenting, Councillor Robert Oulds said, “This is really great news just before Christmas. We send our congratulations to all Hounslow pupils for their achievement, a result of improved teaching, their continued hard work and above all, real determination.

"Under the current Education Secretary, Michael Gove and his team, providing National guidance and continued support, our local students in Hounslow have done us proud!”
