Labour Party Highlights Fare Increases
Visits stations across the borough to meet commuters
Campaigners were out early last week at stations across the borough highlighting rising fares and planned cuts to station staff.
Labour’s Ruth Cadbury was at Chiswick Station meeting commuters heading to work after the holidays. “Londoners face another year of rising fares for a worse service, thanks to Boris Johnson and his Tory friends in Government” she said. “In contrast Labour will cap rail fares, and ensure that stations are staffed and accessible and safe for everyone” she added.
Monday marked the start of a week of action for the Labour Party. There will be “Cost of Cameron” street stalls in Hounslow High Street and Chiswick High Road, today (Saturday 11th) collecting signatures on Energy Freeze petitions. Ruth said “The cost of living crisis is affecting many local people and I hope to meet and hear their stories on Saturday"
