A new furniture store is to open at 492-496 Chiswick High Road in the premises formerly occupied by Wickes kitchen and bathroom showroom.

Saxon Furniture, a family firm which specialises in home-crafted chairs and sofas, has its headquarters in Preston and the Chiswick branch will be its first in London.

Their speciality is Chesterfield furniture.

The firm says that it concentrates on quality with skilled upholsterers, seamstresses and cutters handmaking the sofas they specialise in, using traditional techniques and high quality materials.

Wickes closed last November after several years in Chiswick.

Staff were relocated to other branches.
