Scottish Dancers got into the spirit of the BBC Children in Need appeal at the weekend by giving a special performance of the jig “Teddy Bears Picnic” at St Michael’s and All Angels Church Hall on Sunday evening (16 November).

Chiswick Scottish Display Team with Pudsey

Complete with Pudsey T-shirts and teddy bear ears, the Chiswick Scottish display team danced in front of 40 of the club’s members and then invited all of them to take part.

The traditional tune to the Teddy Bears Picnic (Woodland Assembly) boomed out at the Bedford Park location, as the team raised over £160 for the appeal.

The idea was the brainchild of Club member Elaine Davies who said: “It seemed such a good way to raise some donations and have a bit of fun in the process. People have been very generous, and have thanked us for giving them the opportunity to support the appeal.”

With a growing membership, Chiswick Scottish Country Dance Club continues its Autumn season of classes and social dancing at St Michael & All Angels Church Hall, Bath Road, London W4 1TT next to Turnham Green Underground Station.

Over eighty Scottish Country dancers will gather at Chiswick Community School on Sunday 7th December for Chiswick Scottish Country Dance club’s annual “Kilts and Posh Frocks” dance. Members and friends of the Chiswick Scottish Country Dance Club will celebrate the end of autumn term with their Christmas celebration.
