If you have tried to find a place in Scouts recently for your child you may have discovered that places are very difficult to come by. This is because more adults are needed to volunteer as Cub Scout Leaders - then the group can offer extra places.

18th Chiswick (St Nicholas) Scouts already have a thriving Beaver scout colony (aged 6-8 yrs), and would now like to set up a Cub Scout pack for the older Beavers to move up to and new children to join (aged 8-10 and a half yrs). If they don't have someone by December they will have to lose some of the existing children in the Scouts and they don't want that to happen.

A spokesperson said: "You don't need any special qualifications, full training is provided free of charge and there is a wide range of support material available. All you need is the ability to work with children of that age range and a couple of hours a week to spare."

If this sounds like you (or someone you know) please get in touch - email 18thchiswickscouts@gmail.com.
