Another busy week in Chiswick Turnham Green. After patrolling the High Road earlier this week I now find we have up to 4 new beggars here from Czech Republic and Romania. One was actively asking for money near Boots. Another was actually encamped under the covered area outside the police station ! He had a sleeping bag and belongings. I advised him to move on. St Mungo's will send an outreach worker over the next few days to arrange some form of residential support.

I also held a crime prevention surgery in Natwest Bank. This is a new initiative to highlight crime prevention measures to reduce cyber crime and credit card fraud. One elderly male has been helped and supported after being conned out of over £15000 by unscrupulous cold callers stating his roof needed repairing. I am hoping to make this a regular event at least once a week. There has been a good response.

I assisted my Roads Policing colleagues in targeting anti social cyclists and motorists who brazenly fly through red traffic lights or ride on pavements. Several more Fixed Penalty Notices were issued at the junction of Turnham Green Lane.
