An Inaugural Recital on the new St Michael and All Angels pipe organ will take place at 19.30 on Friday, 31st January 2014.

The recital will be given by Jeremy Filsell, Artist in Residence at Washington National Cathedral, Washington DC.

He has a distinguised career as a pianist and an organist. http://www.jeremyfilsell.com/

Jeremy studied music at Oxford and until 2008 was Lecturer in Academic Studies at the Royal College of Music. He has held positions at Eton College and in the choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. He is a former Assistant Organist at Ely Cathedral, a director of Music at St. Luke's Chelsea, and has taught masterclasses in performance and interpretation at international summer schools in the US, at Yale and Utah state universities.

The Programme, which will include Bach, Alain, Hollis and Vierne, can be read here.

After more than five years' planning and fundraising, the new Pipe Organ at St Michael & All Angels, Bedford Park, was played formally for the first time at a Service of Thanksgiving in the church on September 26th 2013. The organ was blessed by the Bishop of London, the Rt Revd and Rt Hon Richard Chartres.

This is the Inaugural Recital, which the church hopes will be the first of many occasions on which the new Pipe Organ will be played at concerts rather than services.

Admission free, retiring collection for the Organ Appeal. Bar open from 7pm and in interval.
