To bring St Alban's officially back to an ‘open church’ status the Diocese have suggested going the route of a minimal parish boundary change.

This would involve including Acton Green Common and the church buildings into the Christ Church parish, but not changing the parish for any houses at all.

Comments on the plans can be made and local residents can write to the church commissioners and to richard.moy@christchurchw4.com if they would like to express an opinion.

Fr Kevin Morris of nearby St Michael’ s and All Angels has already  written  to Christ Church to support this reopening of St Alban’s.

Christ Church W4 have produced a newsletter for any residents interested in knowing what is coming up at St Alban’s, Acton Green Common.

At the moment the church has been reopened as a ‘mission initiative’, and there is a strong Christmas programme to look forward to including a nativity with live donkey (21 Dec 10:30am); Alternative Carols (21 Dec 6pm); Midnight Mass (24 Dec 11:15pm), and Christmas Morning Communion (9am). Future plans included in the newsletter include continuing services, an art exhibition organised by Harvey Rose, a Ceilidh and a choir from Georgia, USA.

Church attendance in London has increased by 16% in the 7 years to 2012 so reopening churches is becoming increasingly common in the London Diocese.
