Strand on the Green School in Chiswick is celebrating another successful run of its annual PTA panto.

Parents and staff run the show every year and many talents are unearthed for the first time within the cast and behind the scenes, alongside seasoned panto stars who have been involved for several years.

This year's show was 'Biff! Pow! Splat!' - the tale of a motley crew of superheroes, including Captain Woof, Retroman and Wonder Woman, saving the brains of Strand students - Boris and Theresa, from the evil lair of the panto villain - Baron Von Cracken and her henchmen Biff, Pow and Splat. Even the script was the brainchild of parents.

The show was a resounding success with a run of 5 sellout shows. It is always an event that pulls the community together with PTA sponsors Riverhomes estate agents advertising the show throughout the neighbourhood. This year an on screen introduction to the show by local Chiswick celebs Ant and Dec with David Walliams, as well as a cameo appearance from the owner of the local coffee shop, added to the excitement!

The 2018 show will be the 40th anniversary of the pantomime and plans are already afoot to ensure that it is suitably memorable! Some of this years' cast members were children at the school themselves and remember watching parents and teachers star in the show a generation ago. Hopefully it will be a feature in the school calendar for another 40 years and have already inspired the next generation of stars.
