A cyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision at the junction of Sutton Court Road and the A4.

The 69 year old man is reported to have been hit by a car at some time just before 2.30pm this afternoon. (Feb 11)

A4 was closed earlier between Hogarth Roundabout and Sutton Court Road

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service, said: "A 69-year-old man with head injuries was taken as a priority to the major trauma centre at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington."

The A4 was closed between the Hogarth Roundabout and the Sutton Court Road junction but has now reopened. Traffic approaching the A4 from Grove Park was also being rerouted through Chesterfield Road as the junction is sealed off by police.

Traffic is reported to be severe both eastbound and westbound with congestion on Chiswick High Road.

The area is likely to be closed off for several hours as the area is now a crime scene.
