A new proposal has been made to demolish the Victorian house at 23 Sutton Court Road on the corner of Barrowgate Road.

The planning application is requesting permission to erect a three storey building comprising 9 senior living apartments which will be available for sale to the over 55s only.

The application has been made the One Housing Group. There was a previous attempt made to knock down 23 Sutton Court Road in 2013 when the One Housing Group tried to get permission to build a new residential centre for people with mental health problems.

Over 200 locals in surrounding streets had objected to the plans at this time saying the house should be preserved as it is in the Wellesley Road Conservation area. The West Chiswick and Gunnersbury Society and local groups had rejected the design from the housing group. They wanted retention and renovation of the existing building which they say is of historical and architectural merit.

The planning statement for the latest plan say that the developers have taken into account objections to the previous scheme and reduced the building height and footprint and improved the siting.
