“Tchaikowski has this rare ability to draw us into the singer's private emotional terrain, with stories that feel like she's been eavesdropping on the listener's hopes and heartaches" writes Variety’s Steven Gaydos of Chiswick songstress Claire Tchaikowski.

A professional rider in her early 20s, Claire left horses to study music. “I moved to Chiswick to study at Vocaltech in 1998, and have lived here since, writing songs, singing in bands and working with various producers.” Claire told ChiswickW4.com.

“I can't imagine living anywhere else in London, I love walking around, in Bedford Park looking at the gorgeous houses, in Chiswick House Grounds and by the river. I love the independent restaurants and shops (and their owners!). It's magical going into a shop to buy trousers and getting a hug from the store owner and waving at people as I walk by.”

“A few weeks ago, I had a letter through my door from a lady who lived in my flat in 1936. I invited her for tea and she came. It was wonderful. Where else other than Chiswick?! I'm also very keen on the eco-centric tendencies and businesses in the community. Oh and I love that my gym has the family cat wandering around the place.”

The singer / songwriter’s debut album, Those Thousand Seas, is set to be released on iTunes this week. “It's a mix of songs written alone and co-writes, all of them written here in Bedford Park.” Says Claire, “It was produced by Mike Hedges (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Hedges) and a team which includes some of the best players and arrangers in the country.”

“It's taken all this time to get this debut album ready and out, and I just hope people love it and feel moved, in whatever way, when they listen to it.”
