A comedy night in Chiswick will bring together veteran politician Tony Benn along with the leader of Hounslow Council, Jagdish Sharma, and popular TV comedians Shappi Khorsandi and Tony Law.

The event, part of the 'Stand up for Labour' fundraising series of comedy nights, takes place at the George IV pub in Chiswick High Road on 24 March and aims to raise money and morale for local Labour Party supporters.

The event is being organised by of Crispin Flintoff, who is keen for younger people to hear Tony Benn speak; 'There are few speakers as inspiring to listen to as Tony Benn. Even Conservatives will agree to that,' said Mr Flintoff.

'Shappi Khorsandi and Tony Law were also very keen to appear on the same bill as him. It's like a dream billing.'

Also appearing at the event is renowned anti-comedian Ed Aczel, who performs a totally different act every night.

Tickets for the event cost £12 (£9 concessions) and are on sale at www.wegottickets.com/letslaugh
