The children's clothing shop TOTS Boutique is to close on Saturday, (September 6th) after 32 years in Chiswick.

The shop tweeted today: "Goodbye Chiswick. We are closing Sat 6/9/14 Thank you to all our fab Chiswick customers over 32 years. Hoping to "Pop up " soon in trendyW12".

The owner Kathy White, who has owned the shop for the past twelve years, said that she had many positive memories of her time in TOTS, and had made lots of friends. Customers had told her they were "shocked and saddened" by the closure.

"I've worked in the shop for four or five days a week for twelve years and got to know mums from when they were pregnant with their first baby and along the years as their children grew older. But Chiswick has seen dramatic changes and shopping trends have also changed. Busy mums often chose to go online and also the arrival of Westfield has dealt a blow to shops like mine," she commented.

Another popular independent shop Melbury's only a few doors away from TOTS closed recently and has been re-opened as a speciaist card shop.

Kathy says she is exploring an opportunity to open as a 'pop up' shop in the W12 area and hopes that she will still have customers from Chiswick.
