The sorry state of the fencing around two sections of Turnham Green is to be improved.

The Friends of Turnham Green said that they delighted that after years of lobbying, sections of the dilapidated fencing on the west side of Turnham Green are finally about to be replaced.

The western half of the Green (Chiswick Fire Station to pedestrian gap opposite Arlington Gardens) and the Sutton Lane north boundary ( Arlington Gardens to corner Sutton Lane North / Chiswick High Road ) are the areas earmarked for improvement.

Contractors will take down and clear about 112 metres of damaged or corroded low-level railings and replace them with interlaced bow-top railings of a similar design.

The works are planned to take place between the 8 and the 15 August, 2016 – although these dates are subject to change or extension.
