The new artwork at the ‘W4th Plinth’ by the Turnham Green Terrace piazza is to be unveiled later this month.

At 1pm on Sunday 23 April Dame Siân Phillips will officially reveal the piece chosen by a panel of judges from nearly 500 submissions.

The 89-year-old actor, is perhaps best known for her BAFTA winning performance as Livia in the classic BBC TV series I Claudius, but she has had a long and distinguished career on the stage and in TV and film which takes in appearances in roles as diverse as Hedda Gabler and George Smiley’s wife in the adaptations of John Le Carre’s books as well as more recent appearances in Lewis and Blankety Blank.
