West 4 Harriers, Chiswick's running club, has appealed for local people to join up to take part in its annual 10 mile race along the Thames Towpath on Sunday, April 14th.

All levels of runners are welcome to join and take part in all levels of running from their beginner's weekly short jog to sending teams to regional championships.

The Fuller’s Thames Towpath 10 is a scenic ten mile, multi-terrain race along the Thames Towpath, starting in the playing fields next to Chiswick Bridge and Hartington Lane and incorporating the towpath between Chiswick, Richmond and Kew, finishing in the playing fields near Chiswick Bridge.

Most runners finish in anything from one to two and a half hours.

A spokesman said ;"We would like to attract more participants from the Chiswick area to give the event more of a local feel,  Our club does not profit from this race, the entry fee covers costs for providing accurate timing of the runners, our race licence and the hire of facilities at Quintin Hogg memorial ground.

Fullers Brewery provide especially engraved pint glasses that are awarded to all finishers. Accurate computerised chip timing is also provided.

Start is at 09:30 on Sunday 14th April.
