Chiswick Park has been chosen as the London location for the Wings For Life World Run - on Sunday 5 May . Participants will run on a 3K closed road circuit on the Campus.

The race will start globally at 12pm (GMT) and each participant gets to run against the ‘world’. Instead of a finish line, competitors will race side by side to keep ahead of the virtual Catcher Car. 100% of the fees and donations go to spinal cord research, raising money for the Wings for Life Foundation to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Registration is now open, so competitors can join hundreds of thousands of people bringing the world together to run for those who can’t. To take part in the Wings for Life App Run, participants will need to download the mobile phone app or log in and register to take part on Race Day.

Anyone, from beginners to international athletes, can sign up. Two-time Olympic World Record holder and Wings for Life International Sports Director, Colin Jackson said “The Wings for Life World Run is a truly global event open to all ability of runners and wheelchair competitors all in the name of making a truly ground-breaking difference in spinal cord research. The App Run in London will allow race fans, local communities and supporters the opportunity to join a run with UK ambassadors, all the while fundraising and spreading awareness of spinal cord injury and helping us get one step closer to a cure!”

“We are looking forward to hosting this global event. Chiswick Park offers a great space for an outdoor running track - looping around our central lake. It is a fantastic opportunity for some of our international Guest Companies to compete with colleagues all over the globe.” said Matt Coulson, CEO Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work.

Whether walking, running or rolling a wheelchair, participants set their own goals, and everyone finishes the race.

The organised App Run will take place at Chiswick Park on Sunday 5 May at 12:00pm. Race entry costs £18.00.

Wings for Life is a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation with the single mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury. On one day each year the Wings for Life World Run is held simultaneously in numerous locations and via the App across the world, everyone starting at the same time, whether day or night, and all with the same goal – to raise money for the Wings for Life Foundation.

Since it was launched in 2014, the World Run has attracted more than 500,000 people from 193 nationalities to participate in more than 66 countries across all seven continents.
