West4Women is a local group of women, who meet regularly to socialise, network, support each other and have fun and who have just celebrated their 35th anniversary.

Their monthly meetings are held in the evening so that working women can join in , and their calendar of activities is varied and interesting.

Members live in Chiswick, Hammersmith, Acton, Brentford and have a diverse range of backgrounds and careers. As a non-profit group, all activities are organised by members who volunteer their time and skills and they support local charities in the community.

Alex Matthews of the group writes: "Formerly, known as the Chiswick Working Mother’s group, West 4 Women was established in 1983 by a group of working women. Years later, we are still going strong and our programme continues to evolve to offer new, entertaining events every year.

"We meet monthly, either in members’ homes or other venues. Our events programme is wide-ranging and eclectic to cater for the diverse interests of our members. It includes talks and demonstrations, quizzes, meals out, theatre trips, guided walks, book groups… The list is endless and we always look for fresh and interesting ideas every year at our annual planning meeting.

"Within the group, we also share requests and recommendations for local help and services of all kinds from childcare and gardeners to electricians. Members' requests are circulated to the whole group and will often receive a half dozen responses or more. "

New members are always welcome. You can make contact through the website, or call Alex, at 07809 712163 or Anne on 07956 945647
