Local mum, Jenny Scrivener, who recently completed a sponsored virtual marathon has presented a £700 cheque to the Hogarth Centre’s youth officers, Denny Anthony and Naomi Alleyne.

Jenny, whose son Charlie, is a regular attendee said she was so grateful for the support the Centre provides that she was determined to demonstrate her appreciation.

After completing her marathon she said, “I was thrilled when the Centre was able to reopen after lockdown. It ran its terrific Summer Programme and opened again this term. It is so important for youngsters to socialise in a safe and supportive place and the Centre provides every one of them with a great range of activities. Of course, it all costs money so I am glad that I had the opportunity to help.”

Denny Anthony, Youth Officer, commented, “Covid has hit our fundraising activities very hard so we are especially grateful for Jenny’s gift – and also to other local residents who continue to support us.”

Information about the Centre’s Youth Programme is available at hogarthtrust.org.uk.

The Hogarth Charity was created in December 2000 to manage the Centre to sustain the delivery of a youth service. Until the end of 2018, the London Borough of Hounslow was responsible for resourcing and funding the youth service delivered from the Centre. When this support ended, the Board of Trustees assumed full responsibility for the youth service as well as the Centre’s other activities.
