W4 Youth raising awareness of fundraising efforts
April 18, 2023 Dancers from W4 Youth returned to a Sunday market on Chiswick High Road earlier this month to raise awareness of its plans to build a Youth & Community Centre on Southfield Recreation Ground. There were four performances from the troupe to entertain shoppers at the Chiswick Cheese market and those passing by. The group had a stall at the market from which information leaflets were handed out by local councillor and W4 Youth Trustee Gary Malcolm. This detailed the progress being made in developing the centre in the park to the north of Chiswick which will provide activities for younger people in the area. Sally Chacatté, W4 Youth Founder and Chair, said: “It was so great to be showcasing our W4 youth talent at the Chiswick Cheese Market today. Our dance troupe performed 4 times throughout the day, and we spoke to so many great people from across the community, some who have volunteered to work with us and others making generous donations to our charity. Thank you to the Chiswick Cheese Market for inviting us.” Future events which W4 Youth are attending or have organised include a Tea Party in the Park on 20 May from 2-6pm at which there will be entertainment from the singers Aliché and Erire and others and a football tournament with W4 Youth coming together with Rocks Lane for this part of the afternoon. You can donate to the group's fundraising effort online.
