There is local concern over the future Charlotte's Bistro which has not been open for business for over two weeks.

A notice on the front says that due to gasworks the restaurant has had to close.

Local customers have expressed fears that the restaurant could be another casualty of the downturn in the economy for eateries in Chiswick.

We have attempted to contact the owners for details.

A source has told us that there will be extensive works carried out due to a gasworks problem, and that the restaurant will be closed for some time.

There are undated notices on the doors that read:

'UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO A LACK OF GAS WE ARE CLOSING TODAY

APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED
HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE BACK OPEN TOMORROW'

With the busy Christmas period looming, it is a difficult time for management to have to undergo a closure for building works.

This is the second crisis to befall the company - Charlotte's Place in Ealing, one of three in the stable of restaurants - was closed after a fire destroyed the premises.

However, Charlottes in Dickens Yard, Ealing continues to trade.

Charlotte's Bistro was approved for a Corporate voluntary arrangement (CVA) in March 2018.

We will report back when we have more details.
