Charlotte's Bistro in Chiswick looks set to be gone for good with the premises on Turnham Green Terrace up for rental.

The owner has never confirmed that the business had closed permanently and a sign had been placed in the window saying it was shut due to issues with gas supply.

The unit has now been placed with the opportunity for a new lease, with local property firm, MJ Finn, and a source said there had been a considerable amount of interest recently.

The poster now displayed on the front window describes the letting as a “Rare A3-Use opportunity in Central Chiswick”

The premises comes to over 1,000 sq ft including a restaurant arranged over the ground, level and at raised ground level, with basement kitchen and back yard area.

There had been concern for several months over the future of the Turnham Green restaurant ever since a notice appeared in its window last November stating that they were closed due to a lack of gas.

The flagship restaurant at the Dickens Yard development in Ealing already had a repossession notice in its window, and sister restaurant Charlotte's Place, was also closed following a fire.

The three restaurants have been beset by back luck for the past few years.

Charlotte's W5 was the first bar/restaurant to open in Dickens Yard, the new Ealing town centre development in 2016. Owner Alex Wrethman was offered the imposing site - a former stables - due to the success of his two other projects – Charlotte’s Place in Ealing Common, & Charlotte’s Bistro, Chiswick.

The long standing Ealing institution 'Charlotte's Place' was closed after a freak gas explosion and accident at Easter time 2018 in which the acting head chef was badly injured.

The site was later put up for auction sale by the receiver and was sold for £814,000 in May.

Charlotte's Bistro in Chiswick shut before Christmas 2019 as did Charlotte's W5, and at the time management said the closures were due to 'kitchen repairs' and 'electrical issues'.

Last November we asked Charlotte's management for comment as to why the business has folded but haven't received any statement or explanation.
