A new basketball club for local children has been set up in Chiswick

The Chiswick Gators is a friendly club for boys and girls aged 9-16 years old. They train on Fridays 5pm-7pm, at Chiswick School, and on Sundays, 10am - noon, at City of Westminster College, Paddington Green. Training costs just £5 to drop-in or free with membership.

The Chiswick Gators currently have an U16 boys team competing in Community Basketball League fortnightly on Sundays. They'd like to grow the club and form more teams for U12, U14, U16, and U18 girls and boys.

Chiswick Gators was formed after great demand from the Basketball club at Chiswick school which has been running successfully for several years. Basketball is not only an Olympic sport, but also an increasingly popular street sport which can be played in parks with as little as two people. The basketball movement is gathering momentum in the UK, but until recently the children of Chiswick had no competing teams. Older teens locally have struggled even to find a club for fun, having to travel as far afield as Hanwell, Battersea, East Sheen, Kingston and even Kennington because there was just nothing for his age group.

If you are interested drop into one of their training sessions or contact the Head Coach, Micheal Kwentoh, at Chiswick.gators@gmail.com.
