Staff Member Dies at Riverside Health Club

Club postpones event as mark of respect

Chiswick Riverside Club postponed an evening event after a member of the kitchen staff died on Monday.

Police and paramedics were called to the popular club in Duke's Meadows but were unable to resuscitate the 54 year old man. The cause of death is not yet known, but is not being treated as suspicious.

A statement from Virgin Active, which runs the club, said staff were very upset at having lost a valued member of the team. The person's next-of-kin was being traced by police.

"As a mark of respect, Virgin Active postponed an event that was due to take place that evening" according to the statement, adding that the wellbeing of both employees and members was of prime importance to the company .
