Two Chiswick establishments serving food have recently received poor ratings from London Borough of Hounslow hygiene inspectors. Both the Fishy Place on Edensor Road and The Convenience Store at 289 Chiswick High Road.

The inspectors gave a one star rating to the Fishy Plaice which means that in their view major improvement is necessary. For food hygiene and safety specifically the fast food outlet was rated as ‘fair’ but it was marked down overall due to the inspector’s lack of confidence in management.

The inspectors report stated that they had little confidence in management. Under the standardised assessment process this means that the business had a varying record of compliance, poor appreciation of hazards and control measures and no proper food safety management system.

The Convenience Store was also marked down for the same reasons with food hygiene rated as ‘fair’ but a one start rating given over all because of little confidence in management.
