A recent inspection by Hounslow Council’s hygiene officers has concluded that improvement is necessary at the café within the Roko gym in Chiswick.

The private member’s club which is within the University of Westminster’s sports ground on Hartington Road serves food at Café Terra.

The inspectors have given the café a two star rating but gave the establishment a ‘poor’ rating for food hygiene and safety. This means there are some major non-compliance issues with statutory obligations and more effort is required to prevent a further fall in standards. The report rated Café Terra as ‘fair’ for structural compliance and said that there was ‘some’ confidence in management.

Café Terra provides hot and cold food for the club’s members seven days a week.

A Roko spokesman said: "Whilst Café Terra is not run by Roko Health Clubs, it is a separate business, we take this matter extremely seriously and are very disappointed with the results on the day of the visit. We are working with the owners of Café Terra and are confident that the areas noted will be immediately addressed. We look forward to the next visit from Hounslow Council so that Café Terra can show a true representation of the standards within their business."
