Team Keane, the Chiswick based rowing club, had a notable victory at the recent Hampton Head.

On 3 February the J14 octuple scull won their division beating all the top rowing schools by a significant margin. The next best boat of Hampton school was 15 seconds behind and Westminster School was finished half a minute later.

The team, which is coached by Nicholas Parnell and George New, had only practised in the octuple scull once before so they really did do very well to win this race. They are now training to compete in the National Rowing Championships in May.

The winning crew were Jasper Trott, George Scott, Fred Beck, Francesco Venco, Jonah Bretherton, Mehdi Ben-Saud, Oscar Coxon, William Hoskins and George. Wells (Cox)

Team Keane is a local rowing club, based at the University of London boathouse on Hartington Road, which prides itself on being very inclusive and open to all backgrounds and abilities. They train juniors and adults from novice rowers to race level.
