The owner of the now defunct Chiswick restaurant Pissarro’s, Henry Gwyn Jones, has come to the aid of local cricket club Turnham Green & Polytechnic CC, by donating furniture from the restaurant to fit out the cricket club’s refurbished bar.

Local Cricket Club Gets Pissarro Makeover

Turnham Green & Polytechnic have recently taken over their ground, formerly Fullers ground on Riverside Drive, and in March began a programme of improvements, including a revamp of the bar area – but the bar furniture was needing replacement.

Mr Gwyn Jones generously agreed that the club could have the furniture from his closed restaurant at no cost to help with the process of bringing the bar into the 21st century.

Cricket club chairman Bernard Hughes said: ‘We are very grateful for Mr Gwyn Jones’s generosity and will give the furniture a good home for the future. Mr Gwyn Jones is welcome at the club at any time for a drink so we can thank him in person.’
