Located at the Kings House sports ground on Riverside Drive CS Rugby 1863 are a little known local success story. Outside of the professional and National 1 clubs further down the road in Richmond and Ealing CS Rugby are the highest placed team in the Chiswick area.

A brief history of the club shows CS Rugby, formerly Civil Service, to be the second oldest rugby in England – Blackheath being the oldest. Formed in 1863 the club were one of the twenty clubs to form the Rugby Football union in 1871. CS are one of only 8 of the original 20 who are still remain. CS Rugby have been playing at the Dukes Meadow site since 1926, surely one of the more senior clubs in the area!

Since Leagues were formed in 1988 CS Rugby have operated in the Herts/Middlesex league but since a run of promotions have played at the upper end of the London and South East leagues. For five years the team were in the national League level 3. CS Rugby have now won the very competitive London 1 South Division by a healthy 9 points and go back to the National League 3, now re-branded as the London Premiership.

The club consistently feature in the Middlesex cup, more often than not being the winner.
