Chiswick Restaurant Poll

Since Sam's Bar & Brasserie opened they have had some wonderful drawings done by children of all ages, when they have visited the restaurant. Many of them have been left with the staff as gifts and now sit proudly on the office walls. "We have pictures of myself, the chefs and other team members! There are also great pictures of food and drinks and just general life in the restaurant- it is wonderful to see how children observe things!" said Sam Harrison.

"Recently I came across a company called DaisyArt who are able to take children’s paintings and turn them into stunning canvas prints. I thought this would be a great way of capturing some of these images and could add some real colour and unique stories to some of our walls."

Regulars will know that Sam's is has a collection of Sir Peter Blake’s work throughout the Brasserie and Bar. Now young aspiring artists will have the chance to have their work hung on some of the other walls.

Daisy Art

Sam's is now running a competition in conjunction with DaisyArt.

"We will have two categories and two age groups (Under 6 and 6-10) in each category. The first category will be “People at Sam’s” and could be any of our staff or the children themselves or their families or anyone else they feel like painting!  The second category will be “Favourite Food” and this could be something they have had at Sam’s or perhaps just their favourite fruit or vegetable or just a bowl of ice cream!"

The panel of judges will include Sir Peter Blake, Rebecca Mileham, owner of DaisyArt, and Rufus Wickham, Head Chef and father of two boys. The first and second placed in each category will then be transformed onto canvas and displayed at Sam’s. Winners will also be presented with vouchers towards an order from DaisyArt, should they want to buy their own copies of the canvases.

"If one of your children would like to enter, then please ask for one of our menus to paint or draw on and an entry form when you are next in the Brasserie. The closing date for all entries will be Friday 22nd December and we will be announcing the winners and displaying the winning artwork from the beginning of January."

All entrants’ work will also be eligible for the DaisyArt gallery, accessible via www.daisyart.co.uk, through which Rebecca sells children’s artworks to benefit the children’s charity Barnardo’s.

"We are really excited about this competition and look forward to seeing all the wonderful entries - it will just be a shame that we have to pick winners at all and if only we had more wall space!!
