The L’Art Café has now opened at the London Auction House on Chiswick High Road.

The café, which is located to the front of the auction house, is the brainchild of Sameer Mahomed. The interior has been styled and curated with original pieces procured through the auction house and features purple velvet sofas, wooden floors, artwork, and a display of antique silver teapots.

The cafe will serve cakes and confectionery, hot and cold drinks – including Monmouth roasted coffee – the only café in Chiswick serving the brand. They plan to introduce a more extensive menu, from breakfast porridge, to savouries.

The owners say that L’Art Cafe is designed as a meeting point between the old, and the new and will serve as a venue for individuals interested and involved in the arts. The space is not only limited to the visual arts & aesthetics but will host a variety of events, including literary and musical nights.

"The vision is to create more than a cafe but a community hub – where the beauty of old and new can be fully appreciated."

The cafe will change its resident artist on a rolling basis, with the artwork displayed being available for sale. It currently features original artwork created by the Croatian artist Mario Miše. Miše has worked in a range of artistic fields and is the creative force behind some of the costume designs of Victoria's Secret and of the Hunger Games.
