Result: Old Actonians lFC 4, Crawley Wasps 2

Sunday 2nd November saw Old Actonians LFC maintain their unbeaten run in the league, with a spectacular 4-2 home win against Crawley Wasps. The home team dominated from the off, making it 1-0 before Crawley Wasps had time to settle into the game. The first goal was created by Carla Williams-Chitty, who skilfully dribbled past the opposition defence and squared the ball to strike partner Sharon Odofin for a simple tap in.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0 as Rosie Stone's pin point free kick found Williams-Chitty, who brought it down perfectly for a silky left footed finish. Crawley then enjoyed a short spell of possession and made it 2-1, however Actons physical presence once again prevailed when Odofin pounced on a poor exchange of passes between their defence and slotted home her second, and Actons third goal.

Actons substitutes were all used, but none were as effective as super sub Shadia Edwards-Dashti, who instantly demanded the ball from goal keeper Naomi Swift, controlled it beautifully before calmly stroking the ball into the oppositions net: 4-1. Crawley then scored a second goal against the run of play to make it 4-2. Another impressive team performance from Old Actonians who are away next to Maidstone United.

The reserves also kept up their recent good form with a 1-1 draw against Alexandra Park, Catherine Birch scoring. Next up is a league cup game at home to Putney Vale on Sunday 9th November.
All youth teams are back in action this weekend also after the half term break. We are currently urgently in need of more players for our girls U11's team.
