Result: Old Actonians 3: London Corinthians- 1.

Old Actonians 1st team turned up at the home ground of London Corinthians ready to continue their winning streak in the league. With some pre match reshuffling OA were on the ball straight from KO, first goal put away nicely by Natasha Cree in the first 2 mins, OA quickest goal scored this season so far.

An early sub was made as Chelsea Berlin replaced the injured Carla Chitty-Willams. There was some great passing play by the visitors despite a bumpy, muddy and sand filled pitch. 30 mins in, and the ball was won by Lafé Uché at centre back who carried it up the pitch before playing a perfectly slotted pass through to put Natasha Cree in on goal. Her first shot was well saved by the keeper but Cree continued her run and slotted it in second time, 2-0 to OA at Half time.

In the Second half both teams came out fighting and within 5 mins London Corinthians scored from a corner. The OA players did not let this phase them though and 20 mins later Cree again went for a run with the ball, she got to the edge of the box slotted it in nicely with her left foot to put OA 3-1 up, and a great hat trick for Cree!

With 10 mins to go OA played with lots of passion, plenty of committed tackles as well as nice passing. OA won the ball and played it in to Sharon Odofin who looked up, saw the London Corinthians keeper standing yards off her line, and lobbed her from 40 yards to make it 4-1 OA.

5 mins left and great holding play by the OA midfield and spectacular back line team work and cover kept the home team out despite some pressure. OA managed to hold off any more goals and the referee blew the whistle for full time.

Another great win by the 1st team in the last game of 2014! POM went to Natasha Cree after a great performance.

The reserves meanwhile also finished the year in style by beating top of the league Kikk 3-1 at home. After heavily dominating the first half the home team finally took the lead when Linda Fox was on hand to blast home following a well delivered corner from Katie Maguire that caused mayhem in the Kikk box.

Unfortunately a mix up at the back then allowed the speedy Kikk striker space and time to equalise just a couple of minutes into the 2nd half. 1-1.

The home side however were determined to put this right and substitute Natalie Stewart scored with her first touch having been nicely put through by Yvonne Biggins. 2-1.

The home side continued to dominate possession and some good football created quite a few chances to increase the score line! Finally the third came when Leanne Griffin laid the ball back for Linda Fox to finish in the top corner from outside of the box. 3-1.

Kikk had one really good chance themselves but keeper Carley Lloyd made a stunning reaction save to keep the ball out. Final score 3-1.

The win keeps OA in close touch with the teams above and with 8 games left there is all still to play for in the new year.
