A new restaurant is to open on the site of the former George's Diner at 18-20 Chiswick High Road in April.

Rendezvous will be a Persian restaurant and the owners say it will serve 'modern Persian food with a Fusion element' to the dishes.

Typical Iranian main dishes are combinations of rice with meat, vegetables, and nuts. Herbs are frequently used, along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins. Characteristic Iranian flavourings such as saffron, dried lime and other sources of sour flavouring, cinnamon, turmeric, and parsley are mixed and used in various dishes.

Co-owners Ehsan Maliki and his business partner George say they plan to be up and running in April, following some refurbishments.

Ehsan said that they will have a 'modern twist' on Persian cuisine, and the menu is still being decided upon.

George's Diner, which was a seafood restaurant closed last year. Prior to that there was a Nova restaurant on the site and it was once the 1820 bar and before that it was Revolution bar and a branch of Pitcher and Piano.
