After enough set backs to dampen even the most enthusiastic restaurateur, or indeed diner, Gravy has finally reopened.

The restaurant’s woes began back in May 2007 when a glass washer leaked through the floor of the bar area flooding the basement. Unfortunately, things got even worse thanks to the floods that affected so many in July.

Months of wrangling with insurance companies, sourcing builders and designing décor ensued and meant the opening date was put back many times.

However, happily the wait is over and Gravy is back on the restaurant menu with a new look that is the epitome of Chiswick chic.

The stylish interior has been designed by Helen of Change That Room. The once dominant bar is now smaller and curvier and a designated area for drinks complete with delightful appliquéd chairs - which have to be seen to be appreciated - is an attractive addition. Freshly upholstered seating lines the dining area to the right and the secluded alcove with a round table large enough to seat eight comfortably (a rare thing in Chiswick) has been retained.

Chefs Mark and Orlando have returned to their kitchen on great form and have produced a superb new menu but which includes some old favourites. Weekend brunch, lunch specials, afternoon tea and a bar menu will follow imminently. One change in personnel sees former High Road Houser Sze take over at front of house from Sharpour who has moved on to open his own new venture.

Fancy A Drink? Drop into Gravy between 5pm and 7pm Monday to Friday, order a glass from their selection of house wines, spirits, champagne or bottled beers and they'll pour you another on the house.

Week day Set Lunch Menu is available from midday to 3pm, Afternoon Tea / Coffee (coffee or tea is on the house when you order from the Afternoon Tea Menu) and Weekend Brunch is back and looks as good as ever.
