Himalayan Spice in Devonshire Road had its official opening last week in the company of customers and friends from Chiswick and some very special Nepalese guests.

Owners Arati Shrestha and Adran Fothergill were proud to welcome the Nepalese Chargé d’Affairs, Dipend Pratap Bista and his wife Sarita Bista along with the Nepalese Military Attaché, Colonel Himalaya Thapa and his wife Bina Thapa.

Himalayan Spice has proved very popular with the Chiswick community since it opened in the summer and so many people turned up for Arati and Adrian’s big night that the restaurant was packed so much so that some spilled out into Devonshire Road to enjoy the mild autumn evening.

Following the welcoming speeches from Dipend Pratrap Bista and other Nepalese guests of honour we were all treated to a smashing Nepalese buffet.

This is Arati’s second restaurant; she has another, also Himalayan Spice on Ealing Broadway.
