Planning permission for an extension to the Chiswick Moran Hotel has been granted adding 81 new bedrooms, 16 extra meeting rooms, a banqueting facility which can cater for up to 300 people, support areas and additional underground parking facility for 90 cars.

The £20m project will also create some 80 new jobs.

Owner of the Moran Hotel Group, Tom Moran, told ChiswickW4.com he is looking forward to getting started on the project, “We’re delighted to be able to announce good news and a much needed boost to the local economy.

"With the London Olympics just around the corner, we’ll be well prepared for it with a great extension that is going to be every bit as stylish and contemporary as the rest of the Chiswick Moran Hotel.”

The architects for the project will be Project Orange, the same architects who designed the hotel for its opening in 2006.

The Moran Hotel Group is an Irish family-owned group of properties operated by Limerick business man Tom Moran. The group owns and operates the Red Cow Moran Hotel Dublin, Silver Springs Moran Hotel Cork, The Crown Moran Hotel in North London and the Chiswick Moran Hotel in West London.

In March 2008, they also took ownership of the six Bewley’s Hotels, four of which are in Dublin, in Ballsbridge, Leopardstown, Newlands Cross and Dublin Airport, and two in the UK in Manchester Airport and Leeds City Centre.
